Trey Nelson is a 2014 3B/RHP with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Lithonia, GA who attends Miller Grove HS. Lean, athletic build with lots of room to fill out. Fielding on the infield, feet are good with quickness, solid actions, hands works with softness. Long arm action with more velocity to come. Quiet set-up at the plate with little movement and no stride. Simple path to the ball, solid mid-field contact. Middle of the field approach with solid contact. Projects to gain more pop as he gains overall body strength. On the mound, starts motion with high leg kick, stays online and throws from high 3/4 slot. Good weight transfer with consistent fastball velocity. Good student.
