Ryan Erickson is a 2012 LHP with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Mason City, IA who attends Mason City HS. Slender athletic build, room to get stronger. Back turn/leg swing delivery, compact arm action, can get more power from his hips and lower half with delivery adjustments. Full array of pitches, fastball to 85 mph has good arm side running action, will also cut his fastball at 80 mph. Slider best pitch, good depth and shape, hard bite at times. Change up has nice sink and arm speed at 69 mph. Around the plate with all his pitches and has more velocity in his arm. Good student, signed with Johnson County CC, should develop into a successful DI level pitcher.

Ryan Erickson is a 2012 LHP/1B with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Mason City, IA who attends Mason City HS. Slender square shouldered build, lots of room to add strength. Big leg raise delivery, high energy mechanics, high 3/4's arm slot, arm works well out front, more consistent delivery from the wind up. Fastball to 84 mph, mostly straight with occasional sink, throws fastball to spots well. Slider best pitch, good late biting action, gets slider under right handed hitter's hands consistently. Developing change best at lower velocities. Works the lower part of the zone well and can work to both sides of the plate. Good chance to improve, could be late developer. Good student.
