Justin Waterman is a 2013 LHP/OF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Davenport, IA who attends Davenport Central HS. Strong mature build, limited physical projection. Very compact arm action and tight release point, hides ball very effectively from hitters, low to mid 3/4's slot, creates deception. Fastball to 81 mph, have seen 84 mph in the past, consistent sinking action and spots it to corners, quality change up with ideal arm speed and nice sink/fade, short soft curveball, throws strikes with all pitches and has a nice idea how to pitch, got in nice groove. Left handed hitter, short rotational swing, line drive plane, some strength at contact, hits to all fields. 7.30 runner, quick release, on line accurate throws with some carry. Good student.

Justin Waterman is a 2013 LHP/OF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Davenport, IA who attends Davenport Central HS. Thick mature build, good present strength. Rotational delivery, late separation, very compact arm action, hides ball exceptionally well, tight 3/4's release with some effort. Primary fastball pitcher, topped out at 84 mph, very straight but spots fastball and has outstanding deception, ball jumps on hitters quickly. Lacks extension out front for spinning curveball, will need to develop slider or cutter as breaking ball. Rare pitching mechanics/style give him chance as role lefty at next level. Left handed hitter, sound swing mechanics, strength in his swing, fluid line drive approach, gets his hands through, some hitting tools. Good student.
