Thomas Gray is a 2006 RHP/3B/1B from Ringgold High School in Ringgold, Georgia, with a 5'11'', 180 lb. frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action and solid arm speed. He has a slight pause in his delivery that makes it hard for hitters to get their timing. Gray throws a riding fastball at 85 mph that busts in on the hands of right handed hitters. He mixes in a 71 mph curveball with depth and an 11 to 5 break. Gray mixes his pitches well and shows solid control of all his pitches. With his arm action and poise on the mound, we think he will increase his velocity in the future. At the plate he has a rotational swing from the right side. Gray uses a no load, no stride approach and swing down on the ball. He has a good eye at the plate with a good understanding of the strike zone, and he looks for something on the inner half that he can pull. Gray is also a good student.
