Pounds is an exciting middle infielder who lists a primary position at 2B and we think he might even have a shot at SS down the road. He is just 5 foot 8 and 170 pounds and can play second base at a very high level. He runs well and moves even better in the infield. His actions were good and his arm strength was playable at 2B measuring 76 mph across the infield. His throws featured a very quick release and short, fast arm action that got the job done efficiently. His hitting ability is very strong and Pounds showed an aggressive style about him at the plate. He used the entire field, hit the ball hard consistently and had a nice looking swing. He also got on the mound and threw 79-81 mph fastballs and 70 mph curves. He showed a slightly higher arm slot than he did in the infield and he competed just as hard. He is a good division 1 infield prospect. A strong athletic type hitter.
