Hernandez is a junior third baseman from Miami with outstanding hitting skills. Hernandez could be an impact player with a great baseball future. His hitting skills are so good that if he gets serious about getting in shape he could write his own ticket. Hernandez was one of the few hitters we graded out as a 10/10 hitter during batting practice, the best we can grade. He has plus bat speed, along with very good balance at the plate and very, very strong hands. Hernandez showed us he could loft the ball as far as anyone, hit it hard the opposite way, fight off tough pitches in games, most things that we'd get excited about in a young hitter. He plays with a lot of enthusiasm on the field and is a good student off the field. If we see him early next summer and he shows better conditioning, he goes way up everyone's prospect lists.
