Blake Battenfield is a 2013 RHP/SS with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Claremore, OK who attends Verdigris HS. Long lean pitcher's build, athletic actions, projects to get stronger. High leg raise delivery, high 3/4's arm slot, compact arm in back, loose out front. Mid 80's fastball, projects to add velocity with more strength, fastball mostly straight. Throws two types of breaking balls, big breaking curveball with good spin and depth, can spin short hard slider as well, some feel for a change up, good off speed stuff. Fields his position well, key will be developing more velocity. Good actions defensively, 7.28 runner, good hands, long extended arm action and release. Right handed hitter, short line drive swing, stays inside the ball, good hitting tools to develop. Good student.
