Rolando Sanchez is a 5'7" 160 pound 2008 catcher and outfielder from Chula Vista, California who attends Montgomery High School. He has a compact build that is very strong. Rolando is a very aggressive player with the fire to play the game. He has solid arm strength which he showed by throwing 72 mph from behind the plate during the workout. He has a quick and clean release with a pop time of 2.13. At the plate, Sanchez puts the ball in play well and has some raw power for an 08. He is a scrappy hitter who is tough to get out because of his bat control. He is a top of the order type hitter who runs the bases better than his 60 time suggests. He showed some good instincts when he stole third base with no play being made. Rolando is a competitor who will do what is necessary to get the job done. He is a good student as well.
