Jake Gibson is a 2006 3B/1B/RHP from Prattville High School in Prattville, Alabama, with a lean 6'1'', 165 lb. frame. Defensively he has third base actions with nice footwork at the hot corner. He would also have the ability to cross over and play the other corner at first base. At the plate he hits from the right side out of a slightly crouched stance. Gibson has solid bat speed and a line drive swing plane which helps him make consistent contact. He stays balanced throughout his swing and shows projectable power when he gets good leverage in his swing. Presently he is a contact hitter that will drive the ball from gap to gap, but he will have the ability to drive more balls as he gets stronger. Gibson is also an excellent student.
