Matthew Roberts is a 2006 3B/P/1B with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Oxford AL, who attends Oxford HS. Matthew has a thin lean body with a medium frame. Matthew has good footwork defensively and showed solid range. Matthew has body control and showed it well on the slow roller in the workout. He also showed solid arm strength throwing the ball across the infield from third. Matthew starts with an upright stance at the plate and uses a toe tap trigger. Matthew crouches as pitch comes has a long stride and tends to swing off his front foot. Matthew put good game swings on the ball and hit a triple to the RCF gap. Matthew pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with arm speed. He has a good change-up with late run and throws a knuckleball that can be reallly nasty at times. Matthew is a very good student.
