Anthony Oristanio is a 2008 MIF/3B with a 5'8'', 140 lb. frame from Highlands Ranch CO, who attends Thunder Ridge HS. He has a lean body type on a small frame. Oristanio is a contact type hitter and sets up to the ball well, with a quiet approach. His swing plane is flat and he really works to keep his hands inside the ball. As he gets stronger, that swing and approach will work better for him, particularly so when swinging a wood bat. Oristanio did show some bat speed and stayed in the middle of the field. Defensively it looks like 2nd base will be his position. Oristanio showed some feel on defense, flowing to and through the ball well. His hands are solid. Oristanio has below average arm strength and will have to rely on a quick transfer and good footwork to get rid of the ball quickly. He does throw accurately. Oristanio is a good student.
