Kyle Hernandez is a 2008 middle infielder from Key West High School in Florida with a 5'4", 115 lb. frame. Hernandez has a very young body that is still maturing. He has quick actions and baseball instincts that give him a promising future. Defensively he has very good hands and gets in good position to field with his quick feet. He also has good range, especially to his glove side, with a quick first step, and his fielding mechanics will play at either middle infield spot. Offensively the right handed hitter sows good hitting actions, but needs to gain more strength to handle the wood bat against good pitching, and we think he will. He made consistent contact and showed solid bat speed that will only get better. This young player has the actions and tools to be very good in the future and is a solid follow. He is also a very good student.
