Craig is a lean 2007 junior right handed pitcher from Florida who has plenty of room to get stronger. He has raw pitching mechanics at present, with little flow to the plate from his delivery and a long, flat arm stroke. Craig’s fastball topped out at 75 mph and was pretty straight. He also threw a 57-60 mph curveball. Craig actually impressed us more as an outfield prospect. He ran well on the slow track at 7.36 and threw 75 mph from the outfield. Craig hits from a very wide stance with little flow to the ball but has a very quick bat and makes solid, consistent line drive contact. Better hitting mechanics could really improve his power in a hurry. We’d like to see Craig continue to develop his skills as a hitter as well as his pitching skills.
