Zack Chastain is a 2016 MIF/OF, RHP with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Prestonwood Christian Academy. Chastain has a smaller frame with a lean wiry build. Defensively he has nice hands and transfers with solid actions. He moves to the ball well and his feet work well on the infield. He has the same actions in the outfield as he does in the infield with developing outfield instincts. At the plate, starts with a square stance and has a rotational swing. He takes his hands to the ball well and uses all fields. Chastain pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. He has an inline delivery with a short stride. He has more velocity in there with better lower half use. Interesting young player. Excellent student.
