Michael Villafana is a 2015 C/1B/3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Plymouth, MN who attends Providence Academy. Tall lean build with wide shoulders and lots of strength potential. Right handed hitter, quick short swing with tight hands coming through, handles the ball and squares it up consistently, line drive contact to all fields, contact approach he executes well, should continue to improve with additional strength. Young actions and footwork behind the plate, tends to stand straight up before throwing, willing blocker in games. Also pitched, over the top arm slot, tends to fall off on release, fastball to 74 mph, soft sweeping slider.
