Jerod Vick is a 2014 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-1 197 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Claudia Taylor Johnson. Large strong build, fairly developed muscular body yet projects to be even better. Pitches from high 3/4 arm slot, high leg raise and drive forward with good body control, very simple repeatable mechanics, stays tall during delivery with slightly bent drive leg, straight down take back, fairly compact arm action, downhill action on all pitches, 10 to 4 break on slider, occasional sink on change up, good control with all pitches, strike thrower who get ground balls. Also played positions, showed athleticism both in IF and OF with solid mechanics. His power translates well for hitting, has power potential, swing tends to get long but a lot of times the bat speed will make up for it, good mechanics throughout the swing, LD approach with some skills to go the other way, power showed the best to middle to left at the showcase. Very nice player to follow. He is also a great student.
