Alexis Omar Diaz is a 2015 RHP with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Naguabo, PR who attends Escuela Bonifacio Sanchez. Profile projectable pitcher's build, long and loose with the beginnings of some present strength. Slow paced leg raise delivery, 3/4's arm slot, gets downhill well, stays directional, arm is loose and fast coming through. Mid to upper-80's fastball, touched 90 mph a couple of times early, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action. Slider is hard and tight with good depth, resembles a hard curveball at times, present quality pitch. Cuts change up with arm speed and good deception. Fastball command better when mixing, very effective when pounding the strike zone. Very slow from stretch, 1.8 to 2.0, will have to make adjustments at the next level. Has improved consistently and dramatically over the past two years, no reason to believe it won't keep happening.
