Joel Huertas Ortiz is a 2014 LHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Dorado, PR who attends Carmen Sol HS. Very nice projectable pitcher's build, loose with some present strength. Sound delivery, stays balanced and on line, clean arm action, 3/4's release, repeats mechanics well. Fastball to 84 mph, mostly straight, spots fastball with maturity. Excellent curveball, has velocity with hard spin and sharp biting action, big 1/7 depth, potential plus pitch. Works quickly, throws strikes and has present pitchability. Only thing missing to becoming a top prospect is velocity and that should come with time. Follow closely.
