Evan Acosta is a 2015 LHP/ with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Batavia, IL who attends Batavia. Tall, slender, projectable build with more room to add strength. Has long limbs. Pitches from a short arm action and releases from a high three-quarter arm slot. Pitches down in the zone with an 80-84 mph fastball with late life and arm side action. Has a high leg raise and stays balanced through his delivery. Has a nice rhythm on mound and misses bats. Also mixes a 71 mph curveball with 1-7 shape and good depth. Creates a good angle and should add a couple more ticks on his fastball. Bats right-handed, works from a wide base and flashes lift to the middle of the field. Flashes bat speed. Excellent student. Named to Top Prospect list.

Evan Acosta is a 2015 LHP with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Batavia, IL who attends Batavia. He has a long lean projectable frame with room to get stronger. Pitches from a high 3/4 release point with a free and easy delivery. The ball comes out of his hand good, pitches to both sides of the plate with confidence, fastball has good late movement, and has good command of all his pitches. Curveball has good late break, gets lots of swings and misses to with it and is able to back foot right handed hitters with it. Line drive swing plane at the plate with a good swing, stays inside the ball well, with middle of the field approach. Is an intriguing prospect to follow and is an excellent student.
