Drew Denkinger is a 2015 RHP/3B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Johnston, IA who attends Valley HS. Slender build, very young look, projects well physically. Slow paced delivery, stays tall over the rubber, long and loose arm action, over the top arm slot, low effort release, arm works really well from that slot. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, mostly straight, gets downhill well most of the time. Curveball has good shape and spin, 12/6 downer depth, promising pitch he stays over well, maintains his arm speed on change up, around the plate with all pitches. Left handed hitter, spread stance, has good hand quickness, solid swing mechanics, squares up the ball consistently, can use his lower half more to generate bat speed. Very projectable young pitcher whose arm works and who will add velocity with strength and maturity. Follow closely. Good student.
