Jason Sellers is a 2015 C/RHP/3B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Missouri City, TX who attends Fort Bend Elkins HS. Thick strong catcher's build, pretty mature physically. Polished skills behind the plate defensively, sets up low and flexible, blocks well, quick exchange on throws and repeats his mechanics well, good arm strength made better by his quickness, 1.90 best drill pop time, 1.98 in game to nail a runner, showed very good actions on pop ups behind the plate. Right handed hitter, very spread bent knee stance with some hip shift into contact, upper body strength swing with some bat speed and gap power, quick hands, has the tools to be an even better hitter with adjustments. Surprisingly agile and quick on the bases for his speed and size. Also pitched, solid balanced delivery mechanics with good pace, fluid arm actions, 3/4's release slot. Fastball topped at 82 mph, nice downward bite and depth to his curveball, showed big running action on his change up. High IQ baseball player with tools. Good student, verbal commitment to Texas-San Antonio.
