2004 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Brandon Craig: Craig came all the way to Fort Myers from Hawaii to get some exposure to the colleges and we think the effort will pay off for him. He’s a solidly built 5-9, 170 lb. player with good strength throughout. Craig’s best tool is his bat. He’s a polished hitter who hit virtually everything hard at the Showcase, including a 3 for 3 game. Craig handles the bat very well and can both go the opposite way and turn on the ball hard. Defensively, Craig’s best tool is his arm strength, which registered 85 mph on the gun throwing across the infield during workouts. Craig’s feet work well on defense and he makes the plays, but his overall quickness is a bit lacking for shortstop at the highest levels. Second base and third base are definite possibilities, though.
