Aaron Cardona is a 2016 LHP/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Kingsville, TX who attends Bishop HS. Medium athletic build, well proportioned with some projection. Long extended arm action on the mound, low 3/4's arm slot, arm tends to lag behind body in delivery due to it's length causing inconsistent release points. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, some arm side running action, tends to miss glove side frequently with his fastball. Upper 60's sweeping curveball, will get under it at times but good spin and depth when on top, slows arm a bit on his change up but commands well. Has a loose arm and some projection with delivery adjustments. Left handed hitter, late leg raise trigger, swings hard and has some bat speed at contact, hits to all fields and handles the barrel well and makes consistent contact. 7.34 runner, athletic actions in the outfield, smooth arm action with good accuracy, good footwork. Has the athletic ability to keep getting better. Very good student.
