Zach Tonks is a 5'11" 195 pound 2008 corner infielder from LaJolla, California who has a strong mature build especially in his lower half. He has good agility and sure hands to handle third base. He throws from a low 3/4 arm slot but is very accurate. Tonks hits with a wide base and a small stride towards contact. He keeps his weight on his back side and in a comfortable crouch. He has a balanced swing with good bat speed and strength in his swing. He is a gap to gap hitter with good projectable power. Zach is a better runner once he gets under way. He will be able to improve his speed as he gets stronger as well. He does show god instincts and aggressiveness on the bases. Zach is a must follow who is an excellent student as well with a 3.5 gpa.
