David Short is a 2014 1B/RHP/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Cypress Creek HS. Strong athletic build with room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, busy load, deep hands create length in swing, gets to front side early, showed ability in games to shorten up and to to right field, has strength to improve as a hitter but early shift and deep load negating it at present. Plays multiple positions defensively, 7.37 runner, best position first base. Also pitched, full back turn delivery, throws from both low 3/4's and high 3/4's at times. Fastball at 78-79 from up top, 75 down lower. Throws knuckleball frequently both slots, knuckleball often has curveball shape from lower slot. Throws strikes with both pitches, knuckleball could be interesting if thrown a bit harder. Good student.
