Kyle Van Hoeck is a 2014 LHP with a 6-3 160 lb. frame from Cordova, TN who attends St Benedict At Auburndale HS. Tall slender young build, minimal present strength. High leg raise delivery, stays balanced well, easy low effort mechanics and release, extended 3/4's arm slot, arm is loose and works well, good angle to the plate. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, lots more velocity in there with additional strength, good arm side running action. Two distinct breaking balls, slider is late and sharp with some two-plane shape to it, bigger and slower curveball with a 1/7 shape, developing change up. Throws all his pitches for strikes and has present pitchability and feel. Just a matter of getting stronger. Outstanding student.
