Rich Rountree is a 2015 OF/2B, IF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Jackson, NJ who attends Jackson Memorial. Medium, athletic frame with present strength in build. Excellent runner, posted a 6.61 60-yard dash which helps cover ground in the outfield. Comes to the ball well and gets body in a good position to make the throw. Short arm action, shows strength on throws. Getting on top of throws will help to improve carry. Right-handed hitter, starts with a slightly open stance with a high hand set. Quick twitch athlete, short path to the ball, quick hands, generates bat speed and lift in swing. Wrapped start, shows nice contact skills and ability to hit to all fields. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
