Sam Devitis is a 2015 SS/2B with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Freehold, NJ who attends Colts Neck. Medium, athletic frame with present strength on his build. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front well, moves nicely on feet, rounds the ball up the middle well, glove plays, long release, can make the off balance play, nice arm strength from a long arm action. Right-handed hitter, starts with a slightly crouched stance with a high hand set near ear and uses a toe tap trigger. Upper half swing with line drive swing path, creates line drive contact to the middle of the field, shows power in swing, keeps weight back well, fast hands, gets the barrel through the zone well. Outstanding student.
