Corey Baker is a 2016 SS/RHP, IF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Encinitas, CA who attends La Costa Canyon. Large frame, lean athletic build. Hits from a slightly open stance with an upright setup in the box, toe tap trigger, big hand load, short to the ball, linear swing. Contact oriented approach, keeps hands inside the baseball well, opposite field approach, fluid swing. Quick release on infield throws, arm strength projects, hands work well, easy defensive actions, stays under control defensively. Pitches from a three quarter arm slot with a short arm action, low leg kick, works exclusively from the stretch, 11-5 break on curveball. Good student.
