Grant South is a 2017 C with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Woodinville, WA who attends Redmond HS. Large, broad shouldered frame with present strength throughout well proportioned frame. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front, shows a short and quick arm action on throws down to second base, quick feet, gets on top and around the bag with throws, projects with continued incorporation of lower half into actions. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and uses a small knee twist load for timing trigger. Hands start close to body, stays balanced through swing well with a short hand path to the ball. Line drive swing plane with a high finish, shifts weight well through lower half, consistent contact to pull side and comes off the barrel well when squared. Good student.
