Joseph Stopsky is a 2015 1B/RHP with a 6-0 235 lb. frame from Nesconset, NY who attends Smithtown East. Large frame with a strong, mature build. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front well, shows arm strength on throws across the infield with some carry from a full arm circle. Also pitched on the mound, throws from a three-quarter arm slot, fastball worked in the 72-74 mph and flashed a knuckleball at 63 mph. Right-handed batter, starts with a spread lower half with a slightly open base and a high hand set. Upper half swing, shows rhythm in swing, and gets the barrel through the zone well. Shifts weight to front side early on occasion, generates bat speed with strength and is strong at contact with some pop.
