Michael Glantz is a 2006 3B/RHP from Walton High School in Marietta, GA, with a 6'2'', 183 lb. frame. Glantz is a tall, and lean player with a good frame to build on. Defensively he has solid arm strength from third base with nice footwork. Glantz has good hands, and shows a quick release on his throws that makes his arm play even better. He has quick reactions at third base, and even batted down a ball with his bare hand after it took a bad hop. He is a right handed hitter who hits with a no stride approach and an inside out swing. Glantz has good bat speed and uses a line drive swing plane. He makes adjustments at the plate and uses the whole field. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm circle on the back side. His fastball topped out at 82 mph with run in on the hands of right handed hitter. Glantz also mixed in a good 12 to 6 curveball at 67 mph with depth. His curveball is very hard to pick up and he can throw the pitch for strikes. Glantz shows good mound presence which helps make him a two-way prospect for the next level. He is also a good student.
