2005 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Robbie Conver is a 2006 LHP/OF/1B from Northeast High School in Margate, FL, with a 5'11'', 165 lb. frame. He has a lean and athletic body on the mound. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short and compact arm action. Conver generates good arm speed and gets good arm side run on his fastball that topped out at 82 mph. He sometimes opens up his front shoulder early causing his arm to drag and not catch up. Conver also mixes in a 66 mph curveball with depth, and he shows good feel for his changeup at 65 mph. He maintains his arm speed on his changeup and he gets arm side fade on the pitch. At the plate he hits from the right side with a short bat path to the ball. Conver keeps his hands inside the ball well and shows good power in his swing and hand strength. He hit a homerun during batting practice and should hit for power at the next level. A two-way follow with good grades as well.
