Julio Montes is a 2016 SS/3B with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Green Brook, NJ who attends Bishop Ahr. Medium, athletic build with present strength on his frame. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, quick on feet, gets body in a good position to throws, rounds well and shows range up the middle, long arm action, gets on top of throws with some strength across. Right-handed hitter, starts with an open stance with a quiet hand set and uses a toe tap trigger for timing. Wrapped start, strength plays in swing, hands work well on inside pitch, uses lower half to generate some pop, very patient approach, ball comes off the barrel well. Excellent student.
