Nathan Hawkins is a 2016 LHP with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Sunnyvale, TX who attends Sunnyvale. Large, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build, long limbs, and room to fill out with added strength. Primary left-handed pitcher, works from a lower three-quarter arm slot, showing smooth and repeatable mechanics. Stays tall on backside and online with lower half. Quick and easy arm, shows presence on the mound and attacks hitters, living low in the zone. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with nice run to arm side and projects for more velocity. Slurve action on curveball from arm slot but shows strong feel with tight rotation and depth. Flashed a changeup at 72 mph with some sinking action. Nice pitchability on the mound and mixes three pitches well. Named to South Underclass Top Prospect List. Good student.
