Jake Sandoval is a 2016 C/1B with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Houston Christian HS. Large, strong build with present strength. Showed solid fundamentals in infield with accurate throws and solid footwork. Developing feel behind the plate as a catcher, showed decent footwork, can quicken transfer and release, throws were accurate. Right-handed hitter, starts with a low hand set and bat wrap. Shifts into contact with some strength in the swing, can get off-balance on occasion. Flashes hard contact and ability to barrel ball, especially to pull side when timing is correct. Good student.
