Brendan Rowland is a 2006 catcher from Albany, New York, with a 6'0", 165 lb. frame. Defensively he was good behind the plate with solid actions. He slings the ball slightly on his throws which costs him velocity and speed on his pop times. He is a right handed hitter with a narrow and open stance. Rowland has good bat speed with strong hands. He has a line drive swing plane with present gap to gap power. Rowland did a good job making consistent contact, and showed the ability to hit pitches back up the middle and to the opposite field. He is a solid hitter with projectable power. Rowland has a projectable body that should add more strength in the next few years and improve his overall game.
