Fritz Walker is a 2017 C/OF with a 6-0 186 lb. frame from Mandeville, LA who attends Mandeville. Large, atheltic build with nice present strength and projects for more. Ran a 7.04 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, starts with a low setup behind the plate and receives well out front. Full, quick arm action, gets on top of throws, long release, shows strength and carry on throws to second base. Blocks balls well in the dirt. Can lower pop time more with incorporation of lower half towards second base. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and an even set up. Wrapped start, short and compact path to the ball, shows a feel for the barrel. Gets to front foot early at times, line drive swing plane, showed ability to hit the ball hard on a line to the opposite field. Excellent student.
