Tristan Herrera is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 5-10 162 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Frenship. Medium, athletic build with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front, short steps to the ball, short and compact arm action in the back, throws show accuracy, can improve carry by getting on top of ball and incorporating lower half into actions. Also pitch, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a short arm action in the back. Showed a three pitch mix, fastball topped at 72 mph and showed an 11-5 curveball and a changeup at 67 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set and shows an aggressive approach. Upper body swing, shows length in swing but has quick hands and gets the barrel through the zone. Line drive swing path and creates solid line drive contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Outstanding student.
