Erik Tolman is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Lake Forest, CA who attends El Toro HS. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build with long arms and room to fill out. Ran a 7.46 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, good tempo and rhythm to short and compact delivery, stays online towards the plate with a quick arm coming through to an extended three-quarter slot. Good balance with extension out front, hides ball well and creates plane on fastball down in zone. Topped at 80 mph, attacks hitters and shows running life to arm side. Curveball shows 1-7 shape with late and sharp depth with tight rotation. Maintains arm speed well on changeup with fading life at 68 mph. Fills up the zone and knows how to pitch effectively. Fields out front at first base, quick transfer, athletic actions coming off the bag and charging in. Left-handed hitter, starts with an open stance ad a high hand set. Shows fluidity in hands with good extension out front. Shifts weight well through lower half, crates line drive contact and comes off the barrel well to pull side, fluidity throughout swing and projects well with physical development. Intriguing young two-way talent to watch. Good student.
