Jonathan Tieu is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Flower Mound, TX who attends Marcus. Medium, athletic build with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a short arm action in the back. Stays stall on backside and shows balance throughout delivery. High leg raise and stays online with lower half and shows a nice finish over front side. Worked exclusively with his fastball, topped out at 65 mph and threw strikes with the pitch low in the zone, inducing ground ball contact. Moves well to the ball in the outfield, longer release, gains ground with lower half and works over front side. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set pulled back and weight on backside. Upper body swing, looks to lift, gets the barrel through the zone and generates carry off the barrel to pull side. Excellent student.
