2005 Northern CA Top Prospect Showcase
Zach Casey is a 2004 grad and not currently playing on any college program. He is a left handed pitcher with good size and strength. He is a big boned kid with wide strong shoulders. Zach shows some looseness to his release and natural left handed tailing fastball which tops out at 81 mph. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a good balance and even tempo delivery. He moves the ball in and out and was able to keep the ball down today. Casey has a small slider that will be effective to right handed hitters that he throws in the low 70's. He showed a good feel for his change up at 71 mph. He occasionally gets some sink on his fastball and change up when he finishes out front. Zach is a three pitch guy that could help out some programs immediately.
