2004 Sunshine East Showcase
Brian Luchsinger is a 2005 right handed hitting third baseman from Farmingville, NY, with a slender upper body, much like a pitching prospect. He’s a solid defensive player, with soft hands, especially to his backhand side and a strong accurate arm that played even better in games than it did during the workout. At the plate, Luchsinger hits from a wide stance with a high elbow and very little lower half involvement in his swing. This limits his bat speed with wood and gives him a right centerfield approach at the plate. Luchsinger looks like he’s a good enough athlete to develop into a very strong hitter, with a few adjustments to his hitting style. He's a very interesting follow.
