2004 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Britt Ray: Ray came all the way from Kirkland, Washington for the Unsigned Senior Showcase. He played for the Las Vegas Lightning, a NBC Semi-pro team. He’s a very solidly built 5-10, 200 lbs and was playing with a sore hamstring, so we didn’t get a good feel for his running ability, although he made some nice plays and profiles out to third base or second base by the looks of it. His arm was not at full strength due to recent shoulder surgery. What Ray can do is generate very good bat speed. He takes an aggressive, full cut and uses his strength and hands well. He ripped a couple of doubles during games, including one that bounced off the right centerfield fence and impressed us with his swing and approach. He really swung the wood well and with power in both BP and in the games. He should be a big run producer in college with a metal bat in his hand. A switch hitter with power.
