Mark Joukoff is a 2006 3B/2B from Northgate HS, residing in Clayton, CA, with a 6'1", 200 lb. frame. He has a strong, thick, power type build. Offensively he demonstrates good balance with a short swing, capable of producing current doubles-type power. Joukoff hits from a square stance and is good through contact with an aggressive pullside approach. In his pre-pitch approach he works to get his hands in good launch position and with timing, he has a chance to be 5-7 hole hitter that will drive in some runs. His arm has some quickness and good strength. He sets up well in a low defensive position, ready to field the ball. Joukoff's hands are good and his range works for the 3rd base position. On the mound he competes well with his stuff. He pitches from an over the top slot and has a clean arm stroke. Joukoff has a simple delivery and good body control, allowing him to throw strikes and to compete in the zone with all his pitches. His fastball (77-78) has some tilt through zone and his curveball (65-66) has rolling 12/6 shape. His arm is strong and as his arm speed increases, the velocity will climb. His future is likely as a position player as he potentially will bring a strong bat to an infield position, likely 3rd base.
