Carlton Salters is a 2006 OF from North Florida Christian HS in Havana, FL, with a very athletic 6'0", 185 lb. frame. He has lean strength and very good speed and quickness. Salters didn't run the 60 but his actions look like he has plus to plus/plus speed. Salters excelled defensively at the showcase, showing pro level arm strength from the outfield at 88 mph and very good online carry and accuracy. He glides easily to balls and has a very smooth and easy release on throws. Salters hits from a wide base at the plate with a wide base and high hands. He has no real loading action right hnow but has quick hands and good bat speed at contact. Salters approach leaves him long at times but a change in stance and approach could give immediate results. We haven't seen much of Salters but he looks like a potential big time sleeper on what we have seen. His baseball tools are raw but you aren't going to find a much better pure athlete. Salters in a good student off the field.
