Andres Marrero is a 2007 RHP with a 6'2'', 195 lb. frame from Caguas PR, who attends PR Baseball Academy. He has a tall, long athletic frame with some present strength. Marrero has a sound delivery with a short, quick arm action in back and a good downhill angle to the plate. His best pitch was a 77 mph slider that had very sharp biting action and good depth. Marrero's fastball was 86-88, touch 89 mph and had some late sink on it. His fastball looked like it was jumping on hitters a bit and they might not have been seeing the ball well with his compact arm action. Marrero's change up also showed some quality, with very good sinking life at 78 mph. Marrero has all the ingredients to be a top level prospect. He's battled control problems in the past but looked much better this outing. Scouts in Puerto Rico will have to account for him.
