Augie Heath is a 2008 2B/OF with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame from Chico, CA, who attends Pleasant Valley HS. Heath has a medium frame with good upper body strength. Defensively he has good hands in the field, and threw 70 mph across the diamond. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a straight away to slightly closed stance. Heath stays back well showing solid hand speed to the ball. He has a good bat path with good extension to the finish of his swing. During the showcase games he hit a double and showed some pop to the opposite field. Heath keeps his head on the ball, and gets a good turn on the ball. He is also a very good student.
