Joshua Keeney is a 2007 RHP/SS/OF from West HS, residing in Tracy, CA, with a 5'11" 150 lb. frame. Has a small build and is athletically proportioned. Keeney pitched from an over the top slot and showed off a pretty quick arm. Has an unrefined delivery but seemed to be able to maximize his stuff. Did a nice job of pounding his 81-82 mph FB down and in to RH hitters. That FB had decent down angle through the strike zone. Keeney also featured a big 64-65 mph CB with some depth. His CB had tight spin and near true 12/6 shape. Keeney also showed some feel of his change-up. All in all, he certainly has some pitchability and competitiveness on the hill. At the plate he starts out with a square stance and has a quiet approach. His swing is basic. With a wrap load, there is some length in his swing. He maintained decent balance during his swing. Keeney has average stuff on mound but can pitch. He will get outs and eat innings at the appropriate college level.
