Tyler Ross is a 2010 C with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Naples FL, who attends Barron Collier. Named to Top Prospect Team. Ross has a lean body with good present strength for his age. He has a projectable build and should fill out nicely as he matures. Defensively, Ross has smooth actions and is a good receiver behind the dish. He makes consistent accurate throws with good arm strength. Ross moves well behind plate and has a good release on his throws. At the plate, Ross starts with a square stance and uses a no stride approach. He swings on a nice line drive path and has a calm approach and demeanor in the batter's box. He generates bat speed and has quick hands to the ball. Ross looks to keep his hands inside the baseball and has a short stroke. Ross is a very good young follow.
